No. 25 Momiji - Maple Leaves

This Kakemono is a calligraphy scroll dedicated maple leaves - [ m o m i j i ] - alongside the kanji symbol for autumn.
The warm grey back paper creates a soft contrast with the white paper and the flowing lines - being grounded by a red settings sun - or perhaps rising sun.

Kakemonos - usually placed in a niche as one enters the house [ t o k o n o m a ] - are meant to encourage one towards reflection on the current season and introspection as well - perhaps before savouring a cup of tea.

The scroll is handpainted and handwritten with ink and entirely handmade.
