No. 4 Cherry Blossom No Regrets

This Kakemono is dedicated to the most well-known of Japanese icons - the cherry-blossom or 'sakura'. It appeals to our love for the aesthetic elegance of the petals, but also encourages a deeper existential reflection as well. 

It's inspired by the haiku below and focuses on the ephemerity and iconic loss and renewal of the blossom season.

Kakemonos - usually placed in a niche as one enters the house [ t o k o n o m a ] - are meant to encourage one towards reflection on the current season and introspection as well - perhaps before savouring a cup of tea.

The scroll is handpainted and handwritten with ink and entirely handmade.
